What the Committee Does

πŸ’° Budget & Financial Oversight

Reviews and recommends the annual operating budget for Blue Rock Golf Course. Monitors revenues, expenses, and the enterprise fund balance to ensure golf operations remain self-sustaining without general fund subsidies.

πŸ—οΈ Capital Improvements

Evaluates and prioritizes capital improvement projects including course maintenance equipment, irrigation upgrades, clubhouse improvements, and facility infrastructure to maintain the quality of the municipal course.

πŸ“Š Fee Structure & Marketing

🀝 Operations Advisory

Active Issues & Current Focus

Enterprise Fund Sustainability
Ensuring Blue Rock Golf Course remains financially self-sufficient is a constant challenge. The committee reviews operations to minimize any need for general fund transfers while maintaining course quality and affordability for residents.
Capital Equipment Replacement
Golf course maintenance requires significant equipment β€” mowers, aerators, utility vehicles β€” on regular replacement cycles. The committee reviews capital requests and multi-year equipment replacement plans to spread costs effectively.
Water Usage & Nitrogen Management
Like all Cape Cod golf courses, Blue Rock faces scrutiny over irrigation water use and nitrogen runoff into groundwater. The committee works with the golf superintendent on best management practices aligned with town water quality goals.
Resident Membership & Access
Reviewing membership pricing and resident discount programs to ensure Blue Rock remains accessible and attractive to Yarmouth residents as a community asset, balancing affordability with revenue generation.

Meetings & Agendas

The Golf Enterprise Committee meets monthly at Yarmouth Town Hall. Meeting dates, agendas, and minutes are posted on the town’s Agenda Center. Meetings are open to the public.

Public Participation

Residents, golfers, and members of the public are welcome to attend Golf Enterprise Committee meetings and provide input on Blue Rock Golf Course operations, fees, and improvements. If you are a regular golfer or member, your feedback on course conditions and programs is especially valuable to the committee’s work.
