DID YOU KNOW
Marstons Mills is the only inland village in Barnstable with no direct ocean frontage. It is part of the COMM Fire District, which gives residents a direct vote on fire and water budgets independent of the Town Council.

History & Overview

Marstons Mills is a rural, inland village in the western part of the Town of Barnstable. Unlike the coastal villages, Marstons Mills is characterized by pine forests, freshwater kettle ponds, cranberry bogs, and a quieter residential character. The village takes its name from a grist mill operated by the Marston family in the colonial era.

The village is home to part of the Barnstable Municipal Airport and has seen residential growth in recent decades as families seek affordable housing options within the Barnstable school district. The Marstons Mills Village Association works to preserve the village's rural character and community identity.
