What the Conservation Commission Does

Reviews all proposed work within 100 feet of wetlands, waterways, and flood zones. Issues Orders of Conditions for approved projects.

Manages conservation restrictions on town-owned land and reviews projects affecting beaches, dunes, and coastal banks.

Oversees conservation land holdings, trails, and natural resource areas across the town’s seven villages.

Investigates violations of wetlands protection regulations and issues enforcement orders for unauthorized work.
Meetings & Resources
The Conservation Commission meets weekly due to high application volume. Hearings on Notices of Intent and Requests for Determination are open to the public.
