πŸ“‹ Town Meeting Previews

Annual and Special Town Meetings are where Cape Cod towns make their biggest decisions β€” budgets, zoning, bylaws, and spending. Most residents don’t attend. That needs to change. We’ll break down the warrant articles so you know what you’re voting on before you walk in the door.

Town Meeting warrant breakdowns coming as meeting dates approach.
Spring 2026 season starts in April.

πŸ›οΈ State Representative & Senate

Cape Cod is represented on Beacon Hill by state representatives and senators who shape policy on taxes, education, housing, and more. Know who represents you and hold them accountable.

πŸƒ How to Run for Local Office

Tired of complaining? Run. Most local offices on Cape Cod require nothing more than pulling nomination papers from your Town Clerk’s office and collecting a modest number of signatures from registered voters in your town. Here’s the general process:

  1. Check deadlines β€” Contact your Town Clerk for the nomination paper deadline (usually 7-8 weeks before the election).
  2. Pull papers β€” Visit your Town Clerk’s office and request nomination papers for the seat you want.
  3. Collect signatures β€” Get the required number of certified signatures from registered voters in your town (varies by office, usually 20-50).
  4. Return papers β€” Submit signed papers to the Town Clerk by the deadline for certification.
  5. Campaign β€” Knock doors, attend forums, and tell voters why you’re running.
  6. Win β€” Show up on Election Day and make a difference.
