🏛️ About the Community Preservation Committee: The Community Preservation Committee recommends how CPA funds should be spent on community housing, open space, recreation, and historic preservation. Barnstable adopted the Community Preservation Act to leverage local surcharges with state matching funds.
What the Community Preservation Committee Does
🏠 Community Housing
Funds affordable housing creation, preservation, and support programs across the seven villages.
🌿 Open Space
Acquires and preserves open space, farmland, and natural areas for public benefit.
🏛️ Historic Preservation
Funds restoration and preservation of historically significant structures and sites.
🎾 Recreation
Supports development and improvement of recreational facilities and programs.
Meetings & Resources
The CPC meets monthly to review project applications and make funding recommendations to the Town Council.
