A large-scale federal housing bill that would fund the construction of millions of new housing units nationwide, provide down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, and reform zoning to encourage more housing development. Directly relevant to the severe housing crisis on Cape Cod and the Islands.

Requires the EPA to set enforceable limits for PFAS “forever chemicals” in drinking water and provides federal cleanup funding. PFAS contamination from Joint Base Cape Cod has affected dozens of Cape Cod public water supplies.

Would allow borrowers with federal and private student loans to refinance at lower interest rates. Relevant for young adults and workers on Cape Cod struggling with debt while facing high housing costs.

Reaffirms the federal trust status of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s reservation land in Mashpee and Taunton, Massachusetts. Co-sponsored with Rep. Keating following legal challenges to the tribe’s land-in-trust status.
